Great job everyone,
I really enjoyed watching the Rovers move around and listening to you all problem solve your way through the activities figuring out where the code went correctly and where to fix it. We're shifting now to Python and this next exercise will look very familiar. It's essentially the same exercises yet writing with Python rather than Ti-Basic Code. Many similarities yet also new language and differences. Work your way through the 7 exercises and we'll have an assessment at the end. This will take us a bit to get through them yet it will go much faster than before because you know so much of the basic language already. Here the link: 10-Minutes of Python Let's see how this goes :)

For the past few weeks, we've been experimenting and messing around with the CXII nSpire's and the Rovers and there's been a lot of activity and cool drawings created. Congratulations on your willingness to just get after it and experiment. I know sometimes it gets frustrating when the Rover doesn't move and the code seems correct. I appreciate your tenacity and perseverance to just keep going and problem solve. It's done you well.
I gave out your first assignment yesterday - Geometry with the Rover. It starts with a step by step guide showing you a new way to batch commands using a simple code rather than having to copy/past the same commands over and over again. Use this to move through the assignment gaining skill and writing code for each geometry shape. Your evidence will be the drawings your Rover does on paper. 1) Make sure to have the Rover try each code you create and have a thin tip Sharpie in it to draw the shape 2) Label each attempt 3) Continue attempting until you achieve the desire results I estimate that this assignment will take us all week to complete so use your time wisely. I know you can do this!!! |
